MSNBC Suspends Keith Olbermann!

Keith Olbermann was not forthcoming about campaign contributions he made to several Democrats. So,he has been suspended from MSNBC indefinitely without pay. He violated a NBC News rule against donating to candidates from either party.

The reasoning behind this NBC News policy is that “these activities jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist because they may create the appearance of a conflict of interest.” Since when has Keith Olbermann passed himself off as an “impartial journalist?!!

He practically screams liberal on every show. Who are they kidding? Do you think that they are suddenly worried about impartiality because the country just voted a bunch of conservatives back into office? And MSNBC is just as synonymous with liberal progressive as Fox is the synonym of conservative.

Don’t fire him.Reinstate Keith Olbermann. I like to have his viewpoint in juxtaposition to Glenn Beck’s opinions. One thing that makes me like America is the political discourse that our citizens engage in. Keith Olbermann’s voice is an important part of that discourse. Whether you like him or not.

Here’s more from The Los Angeles Times:

“As Politico, which broke the story, reported Friday, Olbermann gave $2,400, the maximum legal donation, to Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva on Oct. 28, the same day Grijalva appeared as a guest on Olbermann’s “Countdown” show. There’s no way that should happen, for the very reasons stated in NBC’s rules against employees contributing to political campaigns–it’s a breach of journalistic independence to contribute to the candidates that you’re covering.

Not objectivity, since no one is arguing that Olbermann is objective, but independence. How can we, the viewers, possibly expect Olbermann to ask a candidate the toughest possible questions if he’s giving him money at the same time? Or even worse, it could be perceived as pay-to-play: I give you money, you appear on my show. The same goes for Fox News, which now has a host of leading 2012 GOP presidential hopefuls all serving as paid on-air contributors. When I see them being interviewed by Fox newsmen, that exchange looks a lot more like media back-scratching and self-promotion than journalism.

The Olbermann mess simply highlights the dilemma MSNBC faces as it plays second fiddle to the Fox News juggernaut. If it wants to be a liberal advocacy network, fine, then it can reinstate Olbermann and start shaping the news to benefit liberal causes, the way Fox does on the right. But if it wants to be taken seriously as a real news network, then it should make Olbermann serve a suspension, make sure its other anchors understand the rulebook and, most important, say loud and clear: Unlike our competition, when we say we practice independent journalism, we really mean it.”(End of Excerpt) Read more here.

Chrysler Workers Caught Smoking Pot While On The Clock!

You would think that after taxpayers bailed out Chrysler, all of their employees would feel compelled to produce the best cars that money could buy. I mean, the general consensus about American-made cars is that they are the worst cars on the market. A lot of people drive foreign cars for that reason. This incident sure won’t sway people to purchase American cars. It’ll probably steer them even further away from the cars that are manufactured in America.

When the video showing Chrysler workers drinking & smoking pot while on the clock hit the airwaves,I was disgusted. In a time when most people dream of getting a decent job, these guys are putting theirs on the line. Now, these guys will end up talking about the unemployment line instead of the assembly line.We don’t need inebriated GM workers assembling our cars. So good riddance!

China May Finally Let People Have More Than One Child!

Since the family structure has now changed,China wants to “re-engineer the demographic balance.” Their population is made up of too many old folks & not enough workers. As a result,China’s one-child policy may finally be relaxed.

They want couples who are both only children themselves to have a second child. Then, they will gradually ease into a two-child policy for all the people of China. Well, how gracious of them!

Aren’t you glad that in America you can become an Octo-mom if you want to?! There’s no blatant attempt to control the population in this country. You can have 18 kids if that is your desire! The sky is the limit, even if your finances say otherwise.

It’s called freedom of choice! And it’s just one more reason to love being American! No matter what the haters say!

Here’s more from UPI.com:

“China may relax its one-child policy as its population ages and a need for workers increases, a demographer in close contact with policymakers says.

The world’s most-populous country, with more than 1.3 billion people, plans to start pilot projects in five low-birth-rate provinces next year to allow a second birth if at least one spouse is an only child, He Yafu tells USA Today.

Beijing, Shanghai and four other provinces will follow suit in 2012, and the policy will be repealed nationally by 2013 or 2014, he says.

The National Population and Family Planning Commission, which enforces the one-child policy, refused interview requests, USA Today says.

In 2008, China’s top population official, Zhang Weiqing, minister of the family planning commission, said the policy would remain in place for roughly another decade.

In February the planning commission’s deputy director said the policy would remain unaltered through 2015.

The policy — one of the world’s strictest, which authorities say has prevented 400 million births — went into effect in 1979 after a multidecade population boom followed by mass death due to food shortages.

Most urban couples are limited to a single child, while farmers are often allowed to have two. Critics say the policy is coercive and has led to numerous abuses, including forced abortions, which are reported to continue in some areas.

But a growing need for more children to care for parents, plus a gender imbalance that will leave tens of millions of men without wives, are two arguments for relaxing the one-child policy, Siu Yat-ming, who researches Chinese family planning at Hong Kong Baptist University, tells USA Today.”(End of article) Read more here.

Rush Limbaugh Claims That Gov. Sanford Went To Argentina Because Of President Obama’s Stimulus Package!

Rush Limbaugh is so not credible that even the most ignorant of his listeners should be able to discern that! His blind hatred & obsession with evoking Obama’s name whenever possible has driven him to link our president to everything except 9/11.

According to Rush Limbaugh, the disgraced South Carolina governor who ran off to Argentina really left because of Obama’s stimulus package.Never mind the fact that Gov. Sanford was in Argentina enjoying his lover’s “tan linesbefore Obama was the president.

Instead of running from stimulus,it appears to me that Gov. Sanford was actually running towards stimulus with his Argentinian lover,Maria! And,apparently,he has used state funds to get there in the past.

People were outraged when he didn’t want to accept Obama’s stimulus package because South Carolina is such a poor state. He held steadfast to his position as a fiscal conservative.

And ,now we learn that Gov. Sanford has used taxpayer money to help fund an illicit affair! What a disgusting hypocrite & liar!

Here’s more from wistv:

“A movement has begun to open an investigation into Governor Mark Sanford’s trips to Argentina, during which he carried on an extramarital affair with a Buenos Aires woman.

Republican state Senator Jake Knotts says he met with SLED Director Reggie Lloyd Friday morning, and asked the agency to investigate any misappropriation of tax dollars, malfeasance in office, misconduct in office and whether anyone knowingly lied about the governor’s activities.

For seven years he has nothing but been a protector of the taxpayers’ money, and now come to find out it’s being misused,” said Knotts.

But it’s ‘okay’ if you misuse it and you are allowed to pay it back. There is no forgiveness for misuse or taking taxpayer money.”

But a SLED spokesman said Friday that given the information known, they do not believe a criminal investigation will be launched.Emails given to The State newspaper appear to indicate Sanford began an affair with the woman, whom Argentine media identifies as 41-year-old María Belén Chapur, during a taxpayer-funded trip with the Commerce Department in July 2008.

Sanford said this week he will repay the cost of the trip.Knotts says as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he will have the committee investigate with full subpoena power into the matter.”(End of Excerpt) Read the rest here.

After Perez Hilton Posted This About Michael Jackson,I’m Glad Someone Punched Him!

At first,I felt kind of bad for Perez Hilton. But, after he claimed that Michael Jackson may have faked his death,I say knock his ass out! Before you go on camera crying about being mistreated by others,Perez Hilton, why don’t you ask  yourself why people find you to be so revolting?

This clown has no respect for the gay community, even though he is gay. And Perez Hilton obviously has no respect for the living or the dead. The post that he put up immediately after Michael Jackson died was cold, callous,& insensitive. He should have did some research before he opened his fat trap! Where was his sources on this one?!!

CNN’s Dana Bash:Her Questions On Waterboarding Tripped Nancy Pelosi Up For Sure!!!!

Rick Sanchez wants to know if Nancy Pelosi has given the Republicans more ammunition with her “muddled answers” regarding waterboarding. I say yes, yes,& yes!!! She is just another lying politician. And CNN’s Dana Bash really exposed Pelosi’s dishonesty to the fullest!

Nancy Pelosi was not forthcoming about what she knew about waterboarding.I mean,Speaker Pelosi finally admitted today that she found out back in 2003 that waterboarding was a part of the CIA’s “harsh interrogation techniques.”I cannot say whether or not the CIA misled Nancy Pelosi,as she claims.

All I know is that Ms. Pelosi is not telling the truth. And neither was the Bush administration when they told all of America that we did not torture, among other things. In my opinion,we should investigate them all!!

Whether they are a Democrat or a Republican, lying politicians need to be dealt with.Because frankly, they exist on both sides of the aisle in great numbers. We have to find a way to put trustworthy & honorable people in Washington. But,I know that is just wishful thinking!!

Here’s more on Nancy Pelosi’s lies from CNN:

“A source close to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now confirms that Pelosi was told in February 2003 by her intelligence aide, Michael Sheehy, that waterboarding was actually used on CIA detainee Abu Zubaydah.

This appears to contradict Pelosi’s account that she was never told waterboarding actually happened, only that the administration was considering using it.

Sheehy attended a briefing in which waterboarding was discussed in February 2003, with Rep. Jane Harman, D-California, who took over Pelosi’s spot as the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

This source says Pelosi didn’t object when she learned that waterboarding was being used because she had not been personally briefed about it — only her aide had been told.

The source said Pelosi supported a letter that Harman sent to the administration at the time raising concerns. The source asked not to be identified because of the sensitive nature of matters discussed in classified intelligence briefings.

Pelosi admits attending one briefing in September 2002, but at a news conference last month, she was adamant that she did not know waterboarding was used.”(End of Excerpt) Read the rest here.

French Anti-Doping Officials Say Lance Armstrong Did Not Follow The Protocol For Drug Testing!

Lance Armstrong has been accused by French officials of not remaining under the watchful eye of the person who administers drug tests. They question the 20 minutes that he spent in the shower while his staff checked the drug tester’s qualifications.

Now,that sounds like a diversionary tactic to me.But,I could be wrong.Lance Armstrong said that he was not sure who this guy really was. So, he had his assistants check the tester out! And you know that French anti-doping officials have been after him for years.

Why would the tester agree to let him take a shower & then say that he violated their testing rules? If that’s the case, the tester should have told him that he had to stay under his observation! Here’s more on this story from Yahoo:

” France’s anti-doping agency accused Lance Armstrong of violating its rules Thursday for not fully cooperating with a drug tester and says it could punish the seven-time Tour de France champion.Armstrong has denied misbehaving during a test of his hair, urine and blood on March 17. No banned substances were found. The agency, known as AFLD, said in a statement that the doctor leading the tests maintains Armstrong “did not respect the obligation to remain under the direct and permanent observation” of the tester.

At question is a 20-minute delay when Armstrong says the tester agreed to let him shower while the American rider’s assistants checked the tester’s credentials.AFLD said cycling’s governing body has given its permission to open disciplinary procedures against Armstrong, but did not say what the punishment could be.AFLD president Pierre Bordry noted that the statement does not say that Armstrong is guilty of an infraction. AFLD is expected to make a decision on whether to proceed with sanctions after its nine-member ruling committee has considered the tester’s report.“(End of Excerpt) Read the rest here.
