Did you happen to catch Gov. Blagojevich’s press conference today? I happen to like Shepard Smith so I watched it on his program. He was so passionate about what Blago was saying that he kept constantly interrupting! That was funny to me but some viewers weren’t that amused. As Chris Wallace said, it was like watching “Mystery Theater“.
Which is really what that whole press conference was anyway. It was just another crazy scene in the drama that Blagojevich has created. So,I thought it was quite appropriate when Shepard Smith kept interjecting with his observations! Why should anyone take what this guy is saying seriously? As Shepard Smith said, things are different on “planet Blago“! The mayor of Chicago summed it up in one word. This guy is “coo–coo“! Here’s more on today’s press conference from the Chicago Sun Times:
“During a news briefing, the governor then called on the editorial boards of the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Sun-Times to weigh in on the matter.
“Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence?” the governor said. “Political figures are just waiting to get me out of the way.”
Under the rules, “they’re hanging the 12 million people of Illinois who twice have elected a governor,” Blagojevich added.
He challenged the editorial boards to “look carefully at these two rules, weigh in and encourage the state Senate to change those rules so I can have a chance to defend myself.”
After the governor’s press conference, state Sen. Matt Murphy (R-Palatine) — who helped craft the Senate rules — responded to the governor’s allegations, calling them “theater of the absurd.”
One of the rules the governor challenged, Murphy said, was adopted out of President Clinton’s impeachment trial “and you don’t have to be a history buff to realize Bill Clinton was acquitted.”
This video contains an interview with the “innocent” governor. Rod Blagojevich likens himself to America when Pearl Harbor got hit. Wow, how freakin’ nuts is that!
