My body is my temple.It is not yours! If I choose to carry a baby that may be harmful to my health,that is my choice.And if I choose to abort the fetus that is my personal decision.I am the woman that will have to live with the consequences of my choice.

But,oh,how lucky I am to have the right to decide what will be done with my body in the first place.To the dismay of many,women still have the right to choose in America.Thank goodness for that!

Because not so long ago, abortions were illegal in America.And women would risk & oftentimes lose their lives to obtain one.I guess those anti-abortion extremists,like the one who murdered Dr. George Tiller,just can’t seem to understand that.A woman will decide what to do with her body with or without the assistance of an abortion doctor.

A new national study shows that the number of abortions performed in Mexico increased by one-third between 1990 and 2006 (from 533,000 to 875,000), despite legal restrictions that virtually ban the procedure in most parts of the country. (In 2007, the federal district of Mexico City legalized abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy; the procedure remains illegal in other Mexican states.) Mexico’s 2006 abortion rate (33 per 1,000 women) was more than 40% higher than the abortion rate in the United States (19.4 per 1,000 women), where abortion is broadly legal and available.

The study, conducted by El Colegio de Mexico, the Population Council Mexico Office and the Guttmacher Institute, found that many abortions in Mexico take place under unsafe conditions, resulting in serious health consequences for women. Seventeen percent of the Mexican women who obtained abortions in 2006 were treated in public hospitals for complications. In comparison, fewer than 0.3% of abortion patients in the U.S. have complications requiring hospitalization.

“These findings confirm research from other parts of the world – that making abortion illegal does not significantly decrease its frequency, it just makes it unsafe and puts women’s lives at risk,” said Fatima Juarez, the study’s lead author. A professor at El Colegio de Mexico and a senior fellow at the Guttmacher Institute, Dr. Juarez added, “The contrast between U.S. and Mexican abortion rates reflects a larger disparity in awareness of contraceptive methods and access to family planning services. I can’t say whether Casey Anthony murdered her own daughter or not. What has been proven thus far is that she is a habitual liar & a sociopath! If she is the culprit, I hope they give her ass the death penalty! I mean, Casey could have given Caylee up for adoption if she didn’t want her. Look at how she was discovered! Caylee Anthony’s body was in a trash bag & discarded in the woods. The meter reader that found this  mysterious bag had actually tried to report it back in August. But the first time a deputy came to the scene to investigate this bag, a snake scared him away! The meter reader made two more calls to the police which were not heeded. It just all sounds bizarre because the cadaver dogs had already covered that area & were not drawn to this bag. So, when did this bag get placed here & who put it there?

But, I’m just glad that they have finally identified the remains of Caylee Anthony. Now, she can be given a proper memorial & burial. May this beautiful angel ascend to heaven & those who are responsible for her demise should be put to death!

In this election, Americans have two very different choices. For many women, it is inspiring to have a female VP candidate no matter what their political stance is. Hillary Clinton gave hope to the progress of the feminist cause which is the right to be considered equal with men. They felt that the female voice had been stifled when Hillary lost. The emotions ran so high that it is still a challenge for Barack Obama to sway these women to vote for him. After Obama picked Joe Biden, John McCain made a shrewd political move & picked a woman. He hoped that his decision to name Sarah Palin as the VP would assuage those feelings of dejection these Hillary supporters felt.

It is hard for those liberal feminists who adored Hillary Clinton to do anything for Sarah but silently cheer her on. They may be keen on a woman for vice president but it’s too bad she’s not akin to Hillary Clinton in any way except her gender. We’ve all heard the dissimilarities between them but the most blaring one is on the topic of abortion. Sarah Palin is wholeheartedly against it no matter what the circumstances which is quite different than Hillary Clinton’s viewpoint on abortion.

Now, I think that we need to reduce the number of abortions in the U.S. We are the second country that performs the most abortions in the world.  Only Russia has more abortions than we do . There are several birth control methods that can prevent unwanted pregnancies. We need to educate our youth about the choices that are available to them. I don’t want the government to control whether or not I can make a decision about my body. The right to choose is part of a democracy. It is a key component of American principles to have the freedom of choice.  Thank God we can choose in this country.
